24 Karat Club SEUS Inducts New Members & Awards Scholarships 24K Foreman winner-82

The 24 Karat Club Southeastern United States, a prestigious organization of industry professionals representing leading members from the jewelry supplier sector, welcomed six new members and awarded eleven scholarships at their Forty-Third Annual Banquet held at the Atlanta Country Club on August 12, 2017.

Membership to the 24 Karat Club is on an invitation-only basis and offered to select members of the industry based on their accomplishments in their jewelry career, personal and civic contributions and their commitment to the betterment of the jewelry industry.

“We’re thrilled to welcome such an outstanding group of jewelry professionals to the 24 Karat Club,” said Club President Bill Newnam. “We expect each of these new members will be a tremendous asset to our organization.”

The 24K Club Class of 2017 includes:
• Dick Abbott - President, The Edge jewelry store software
• Allan Cagle – southeastern sales representative, Equity Diamond Brokers, Frederic Duclos, Color Merchants & Viken’s Jewelry Manufacturing
• Cindy Hartzog – sales representative, Gabriel
• Lecil Henderson – owner/designer, The Henderson Collection by Lecil
• Tammy Lail – VP of Merchandising, Stuller, Inc.
• Mel Schmidt – COO LFS Consultants/Don Conkey & Sons

Each year the 24 Karat Club SEUS awards an extensive list of scholarships to deserving jewelry industry recipients throughout the southeast. This year’s scholarship recipients include:
• The Robert Foreman Memorial Scholarship was awarded to
Jennifer Chastain of Ware Jewelers, Opelika, AL. Jennifer will
receive a $2,000 Scholarship to pursue GIA classes.
• Sterrling Reputation-24K Scholarships (sponsored by Sterling Reputation) were awarded to Nicholas Bates of Anthony Jewelers in Nashville, TN and Jonathan Paz of Worthmore Jewelers in Atlanta, GA. Nicholas and Jonathan will receive $1250 to pursue educational goals.
• Diamond In The Rough-24K Scholarships (sponsored by Judy Carter & Associates) were awarded to Skye Gillis of Gillis Jewelers in Tuscaloosa, AL and Adriana Hoover of Grogan Jewelers in Florence, AL. Skye and Adriana will receive $1250 to pursue educational goals.
• Diamond Council of America -24K Scholarships were awarded to five deserving individuals. The DCA donates the recipients’ choice of three on-line accredited courses. 2017 recipients include: Iris Sanders-Jarvis, Young Jewelers in Jasper, AL; Devin Trachtman, Seabreeze Fine Jewelry in Daytona Beach, FL; Kory Kowalski, Ellis Jewelers in Concord, NC; Colt Snowden, Snowden’s Jewelers in Wilmington, NC; Flower Gattone-Enix, Fountain City Jewelers in Knoxville, TN; and Sarah Bliven, Tara Fine Jewelry in Buford, GA.
