Insurance Institute of Jewelry Appraisal Endorses BriteCo Appraisal and Personal Insurance Offering

BriteCo, a new appraisal and insurance technology company based in the Chicago suburbs, has received the official endorsement of the Insurance Institute of Jewelry Appraisal (IIJA) for its Appraisal Management Platform™ and personal jewelry insurance offering.

BriteCo also provides cloud-based appraisal software for creating and managing appraisals that is free to retail jewelers. Once an appraisal is finalized, the customer receives a text or email with a quote to get insurance coverage within a matter of minutes.

In an IIJA Facebook post entitled, “An Insurance Adjuster Evaluation of BriteCo Jewelry Insurance,” IIJA president Robert James wrote that BriteCo’s appraisal software is “superior to any other I’ve experienced.”

According to James, BriteCo is “the first true joining of the jewelry industry with the insurance industry, with a program designed to benefit and protect all levels. Superior jewelry insurance coverage backed by local home-town, independent retail jewelers for the highest protection of consumer’s jewelry.”

In endorsing the BriteCo appraisal program, James indicated the IIJA will include it as part of the group’s Registered Gemologist Appraiser training. “The BriteCo appraisal system protects the fiduciary interests of the appraiser, the insured and the insurer,” he concluded.

“We are pleased to receive this kind of evaluation from a respected and experienced professional such as Robert James,” said BriteCo CEO Dustin Lemick, a third-generation jeweler who founded the company. “It helps assure our jeweler partners and their customers they can rely on BriteCo to deliver on our promise of expert appraisals with immediate insurance coverage.”

The cloud based BriteCo Appraisal Management Platform™ (AMP) enables jewelers to create appraisals in ten minutes or less. Free to qualified jewelers, the BriteCo AMP uses intuitive self-guided screens to enter key information, include photos, and get a recommended range for appraised value based on market data. Once the jeweler finalizes an appraised value, the customer receives an email with an electronic copy of the appraisal for their records.

When the appraisal is finalized, BriteCo sends an email or text directly to the customer that includes a custom quote for replacement insurance coverage. The customer clicks a link in the message, fills out a short application on their phone or other device, pays by credit or debit card, and is insured immediately.

Licensed to sell jewelry and watch insurance in all 50 states and backed by an AM Best A rated insurance carrier, BriteCo recently showcased its appraisal platform at JCK Las Vegas, the nation’s largest gathering of jeweler manufacturers and retailers in the U.S. Retail jewelers can view a video demo of the appraisal platform and apply to become a BriteCo jeweler partner at www.brite.co/for-jewelers.
